Consumer and market authority (ACM) publishes research by SiRM and Twynstra Gudde on definition of market segments
Qualitative and quantitative research methods were used in the research. For example, we looked at how this topic is viewed internationally. DRG declaration information of the Dutch Authority of Healthcare was used for the quantitative research.
This study researched which part of the care can be called "complex". Subsequently, a set of clusters of coherent care was identified for the non-complex care. Some of these have little connection with other hospital care or facilities and may form a separate market segment. Others show a clear interdependence with the hospital.
