Healthcare

SiRM is active across all healthcare sectors. Strategic advice is our core business. In addition, we conduct research and evaluations and facilitate joint strategy development. In doing so, we support multiple parties in jointly developing a broadly supported strategy or policy. These may also be multiple stakeholders within a single (hospital) organisation. We have in-depth knowledge of healthcare and the healthcare system. We combine this with a strong analytical approach. To increase the impact of our advice, we follow a careful process in which we thoroughly consider the interests of all stakeholders involved.

Deep sector knowledge

SiRM has been working in regulated markets for almost 20 years. Most of our clients operate in healthcare and the social domain, including healthcare providers, health insurers, municipalities, central government, public authorities, industry associations and patient representative organisations. We work across all healthcare sectors, including acute care, primary care, pharmaceutical care, maternity care, mental healthcare, long-term care, rehabilitation care and hospital care.

We combine the craft of strategic consulting with in-depth knowledge of the sector and the healthcare system. We have extensive experience with the unique characteristics of healthcare and the key issues facing the sector, such as ageing populations, labour market shortages and (regional) collaboration.

Strong analytical approach

Our advice is carefully substantiated and grounded in a strong analytical approach. Wherever possible, we provide quantitative insights. We are often engaged to produce estimates, particularly when information is not readily available. For example, using our SiRM Healthcare Futures Model, we produce projections of healthcare demand and costs for healthcare providers, explicitly incorporating transformation objectives into our calculations. The assumptions we use are robust, carefully substantiated and clearly explained.

Our consultants are experienced in working with large datasets to generate relevant insights and reliable conclusions. We are NEN 7510 certified, meaning that we have implemented measures to adequately protect confidential business and personal information. This also enables us to act effectively as a Trusted Third Party (TTP).

Careful process

To ensure that our advice leads to real change, we examine the interests and drivers of all stakeholders involved in each project — from citizens and patients to healthcare professionals, healthcare organisations and their staff. We involve internal and external stakeholders in a manner appropriate to the situation and ensure a clear process that defines who contributes and decides, when and on what issues. Together with our clients, we ensure that decision-makers with the appropriate mandate are involved. In this way, we create value for all parties and increase the likelihood of genuine transformation in healthcare.
