Merlijn is driven to create social impact by tackling strategic challenges.
With a strong affinity for the healthcare sector, an entrepreneurial mindset, and experience working in multidisciplinary teams, he is committed to improving healthcare.

After completing his Bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences (BMG), Merlijn earned his Master’s degree in Health Economics with honors at Erasmus University Rotterdam. During his studies, he became fascinated by the complexity of the Dutch healthcare system and how economic insights can help address its challenges. He gained hands-on experience as a consultant at Young Advisory Group and as an intern at a strategy consultancy.

Merlijn wrote his master’s thesis during an internship at SiRM, where he explored how centralizing complex cancer treatments in the Netherlands affects mortality and travel time. Since October 2025, he has been working with great enthusiasm as a consultant at SiRM.
