Michiel van der Gaag

Michiel is motivated to contribute to improving social sectors such as healthcare and energy. He is keen to apply his analytical skills to gain insight into complex issues.

In 2022, Michiel completed his degree in Econometrics, Operations Research and Actuarial Studies at the University of Groningen. During his master's internship, he researched the optimisation of demand forecasting and inventory management in mobile telephony and wrote his thesis on this topic. He then worked as a data scientist, focusing on inventory management and procurement.

Michiel returned to SiRM in 2023, where he previously wrote his bachelor's thesis on the relationship between the financial situation of hospital’s and the quality of hospital care. At SiRM, he combines his investigative mindset and sector-specific experience to provide substantiated insights for both the healthcare and energy sectors.
